Tim Allen Compares Being Conservative in Hollywood to ’30s Germany – Hollywood Reporter

“You get beat up if don’t believe what everybody believes,” said the comedian while discussing his trip to the Presidential Inauguration.

Comedian Tim Allen compared living in President Trump’s America to ’30s Germany when Jimmy Kimmel asked him about his trip to the Presidential Inauguration. Allen explained that the reason he attended was because he was invited as a VIP guest by veterans before simply telling Kimmel: “Yeah I went to the Inauguration.”

“You’ve gotta be real careful around here,” Allen said on Jimmy Kimmel Live! “You get beat up if don’t believe what everybody believes. This is like ’30s Germany. I don’t know what happened. If you’re not part of the group, ‘You know what we believe is right,’ I go, ‘Well, I might have a problem with that.’”

“I’m not attacking you,” joked Kimmel in response to Allen, who portrays a conservative on ABC’s Last Man Standing.

Allen has spoken out about Hollywood’s reaction to Trump in the past. He visited The Kelly File last year, where he called it “hypocritical” that Hollywood didn’t like Trump because he is a bully.

“What I find odd in Hollywood is that they didn’t like Trump because he was a bully. But if you had any kind of inkling that you were for Trump, you got bullied for doing that. And it gets a little bit hypocritical to me,” said Allen.

“To me, he acts like a new talent comedian,” he added. “These are guys that have great material that have very bad comedy timing. And he’s got terrible timing.”
