July 14 (UPI) — Former After School member Uee is dating fellow South Korean singer Kangnam.
Uee, a 29-year-old actress and K-pop star, and Kangnam, a 30-year-old recording artist, confirmed the news through their respective agencies, Yeolum Entertainment and RD Entertainment, Thursday.
The agencies said Uee and Kangnam developed a romance about three months ago, according to the Korea Times. The pair became close after the actress joined the SBS variety show Law of the Jungle.
Uee had denied dating Kangnam after romance rumors about the couple first surfaced. Her agency said the actress initially denied the reports because her relationship with the singer is in its “beginning stages.”
“[Uee and Kangnam] just recently began dating … so we are being careful with the sudden reports,” Yeoreum said, according to the International Business Times. “To be considerate of the other side, we denied the rumors at first, but after discussing the matter with both sides, we’ve decided to come forward.”
Uee apologized for denying the rumors in a post Thursday on Instagram, saying she was “sorry” for the confusion. The actress came to fame with the girl group After School, which she left in May, while Kangnam was a member of the boy band M.I.B., which disbanded in January.
