The veteran presenter, who has moved on from estranged wife Lisa Armstrong with their PA Anne-Marie Corbett, saw his reputation left in tatters earlier this year after being arrested and charged with drink-driving.
During an appearance at Wimbledon’s Magistrates Court, Ant McPartlin, 42, was slapped with a record-breaking fine of £86,000.
He then checked into rehab for the second time in as many years to get help with his inner demons leaving co-host Declan Donnelly to front both Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway and Britain’s Got Talent alone.
Speaking to ITV news, ITV Chief Executive Carolyn McCall was asked if Ant will ever return to the small screen.
“he will come back when he’s well and and when he is ready to comeback and ITV will not be putting him under any pressure to come back unless he’s well and fit enough to come back”

Looking stern, the TV bigwig replied: “So, we wish Ant well, clearly he won’t come back a moment too soon.
“So I mean, he will come back when he’s well and and when he is ready to come back and ITV will not be putting him under any pressure to come back unless he’s well and fit enough to come back.”
Pushing, the interviewer added: “But he will be retuning to the channel?”
Carolyn added: “As far as I know, that is true.”
Despite Ms McCall confirming ITV will stand by the fallen star it is still unclear if he will be back in time for both I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and the next series of Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.
Previous reports claimed he would not be deemed fit enough to jet out to Australia to host the uber-popular reality show.
Meanwhile, the team behind Takeaway are currently focusing on filming Stephen Mulhern’s spin-off show In For A Penny.
Daily Star Online previously revealed how Scarlett Moffatt also isn’t guaranteed to return to Takeaway next year, after failing to land a longterm contract.
A TV insider spilled in May: “Scarlett isn’t contracted for any future series of Takeaway.
“As with Ashley Roberts before her, she’s been on a rolling contract year on year and therefore she has to wait to see if she will be resigned on for the 2019 series.
“With Ant out of TV for the foreseeable future, everything about the next series is up in the air.”
A rep for ITV declined to comment, as did a rep for Scarlett Moffatt.
