England will play with a video assistant referee for the first time in their friendly against France on Tuesday.The VAR experiment is being trialled by FIFA at selected matches and events, with wider implementation and a role in the 2018 World Cup to follow, but is not currently mandatory.Both associations have to agree to its use under current rules and the Football Association was happy to give its assent.Italian referee Davide Massa will be officiating the match, with two conventional assistant referees supplemented by compatriots Marco Guida and Massimiliano Irrati providing television support. They will be based in a video operation room which can be, but does not have to be, inside the stadium. They VARs will be on hand to review and advise on four distinct issues: goals where there

June 12 (UPI) --Joe Flacco has a new target in Baltimore after the Ravens agreed to a two-year deal Monday with Pro Bowl wide receiver Jeremy Maclin.The team announced that Maclin has passed his physical and will fly to Baltimore Tuesday to officially sign the contract. The Florida Panthers named Bob Boughner as their head coach on Monday. The former NHL defenseman becomes the 15th coach in the franchise's 24-year history, and its fifth since 2011. "After an exhaustive search, we are pleased to welcome Bob as the new head coach of the Panthers," general manager Dale Tallon said of the 46-year-old Boughner.
