Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer laments missed chances as Bruno Fernandes and co stumble to drab draw at Arsenal

Manchester United ‘should have had enough’ to beat Arsenal but they ‘blew their chances’ to win at the Emirates, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes.

Bruno Fernandes had a rare off day and Marcus Rashford also stumbled in front of goal as the Red Devils battled out a drab goalless stalemate with the Gunners.

And Solskjaer has told talkSPORT that he believes his side would have come away with all three points on a different day if it wasn’t for their wastefulness in front of goal.

“We look at those chances and normally we put those away,” he said.

“But he’s [Rashford] there to be on the end of them and that’s important, but it was definitely a good reaction from Wednesday night.

Asked if Scott McTominay’s injury disrupted United’s rhythm, Solskjaer said: ”You could say that. Paul [Pogba] came into midfield as he didn’t really get into the game when h e out on the left.

“We got enough players that are used to each other anyway.

“There was a period of ten or 15 minutes when they had too many shots for my liking, a free kick that hit the crossbar.

“The other bits I thought David [De Gea] was in control.

“It was a little bit too passive definitely but the two chances we created should have been enough.”
