Strictly star's ex-girlfriend: 'I'm not a victim'

The girlfriend of Strictly star Seann Walsh has dumped him on Twitter, saying she is “no victim” after he was pictured kissing his dance partner.

Rebecca Humphries released a statement after the stand-up comedian and Katya Jones issued apologies for their behaviour on a “drunken” night out.

She started the statement insisting she is “not a victim” and ended it saying: “I’m not sorry I took the cat, though.”

Ms Humphries explained that the pictures were taken on her birthday, while she was at home alone.

Throughout the post she mocks the spelling of his name, writing it with one ‘n’, and accused him of “controlling” behaviour.

The comedian and Mrs Jones, are partners in the current series of Strictly Come Dancing.

Mrs Jones has been married to fellow Strictly dancer Neil Jones since 2013.

In a Twitter post, Ms Humphries wrote: “It’s incredibly good of Sean(n) and Katya to apologise in the media.

“I have received nothing, other than the support of my family, friends, and a host of strangers on the internet who all wanted to make sure I was OK.”

She added: “Those pictures were taken on October 3rd.

“It was my birthday.

“I was alone at home when Sean texted at 10pm saying the two of them were going for one innocent drink.

“We spoke and I told him, not for the first time, that his actions over the past three weeks had led me to believe something inappropriate was going on.

“He aggressively, and repeatedly, called me a psycho/nuts/mental.”

Ms Humphries reached out to others who might be in a relationship where they feel their partner “holds power” over them.

She said: “Believe in yourself and your instincts.

“It’s more than lying. It’s controlling.

“Tell some very close friends who, if they’re anything like my wonderful network, will swoop in and take care of the logistics and of you.

“It’s important also to recognise that in these situations those who hold power over you are insecure and fragile, and their need for control comes from a place of vulnerability.”

Walsh has not spoken since Ms Humphries’ Twitter statement.
