Scientists have discovered 15 new species of cuckoo bees hidden in North American museum collections and in an ancient thesis.Like their avian counterparts, cuckoo bees lay their eggs in the nests of other bees, usually solitary dwellers.When the cuckoos hatch they kill off the usurped bees' larva and are raised by the unsuspecting host. Researchers say that this type of behaviour is common in bees and up to 15% of species are cuckoos.While there are many different genera, or types, of cuckoo bees, all the new discoveries relate to one genus, Epeolus. Men are less than half as likely as women to ask for help when they are diagnosed with cancer, according to the charity Macmillan. Craig Toley was 29 when he was diagnosed with thyroid cancer but didn't talk about it until after he'd fallen into a deep depression. "I remember when I got diagnosed I went to work straight from the doctor's surgery and did a full day's work. "I didn't talk to anyone I think for maybe three or four months."Craig, who is from Northolt, was diagnosed two years ago.
