Oct. 21 (UPI) -- The Green Bay Packers have added safety Jermaine Whitehead to the active roster from the practice squad.Packers executive vice president, general manager and director of football operations Ted Thompson announced the signing on Saturday.Whitehead, 24, entered the NFL as an undrafted rookie free agent signing by the San Francisco 49ers in 2015. The 5 foot 11, 195 pound defender spent most of his first season with the 49ers' practice squad. He was added to the Baltimore Ravens' active roster on Dec. 23, 2015, but was inactive for the final two games of the season. Baltimore waived Whitehead in May of 2016 before he signed with the Packers. Whitehead made two special teams appearances last season for the Packers. Sept. 25 (UPI) -- Tight end Ricky Seals-Jones is now a member of the Arizona Cardinals' 53-man active roster.Arizona announced the move on Monday. The Cardinals released linebacker Philip Wheeler in a corresponding transaction.Seals-Jones, 22, joined the Cardinals in May as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Texas A&M. He participated in the preseason with the team before being cut on Sept. 2. Seals-Jones signed with the Cardinals' practice squad on Sept. 3. The 6-foot-5, 243-pound tight end had 123 catches for 1,442 yards and 10 scores in 34 games at wide receiver for the Aggies. Sept. 12 (UPI) -- Wide receiver Kevin White has landed on injured reserve after suffering a serious injury for the third consecutive season.White, 25, was the No. 7 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. He had two catches for six yards in the Chicago Bears' loss Sunday to the Atlanta Falcons before exiting with a fractured shoulder blade. The Bears also added linebacker Jerrell Freeman to injured reserve due to a pectoral injury.Freeman, a six-year veteran, had 110 combined tackles in 12 games last season.Chicago also signed linebacker Jonathan Anderson and wide receiver Tanner Gentry to its active roster from its practice squad.
