Feb. 14 (UPI) -- The Iron Fist 2019 multilateral training event concluded earlier this month, which included the certification of Japan's first amphibious assault force. The 14th installment of Iron First also marked the first time Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force soldiers brought their own amphibious assault vehicles, the U.S. Marine Corps said in a release this week. Iron Fist, held in Southern California, was one of two training exercises between the U.S. Marine Corps and the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force this month. Nov. 16 (UPI) -- The National Security Agency has certified Rockwell Collins AN/ARC-210 RT-2036(C) airborne radio for transmitting classified information up to Top Secret, the company has announced. "This NSA certification is one of the final steps in getting our latest-generation airborne radio technology into the field," Troy Brunk, vice president and general manager of communication, navigation and electronic warfare solutions for Rockwell Collins, said in a press release. "With data, images, voice and video being sent from the air to the ground in real time, warfighters will have critical information at their fingertips to gain a tactical advantage on the battlefield," Brunk said.
