CBS to salute Carl Reiner with two episodes of ‘The Dick Van Dyke Show’

July 1 (UPI) -- CBS announced it will pay tribute to the late Carl Reiner by airing a pair of colorized episodes of The Dick Van Dyke Show. The network said two episodes prominently featuring Reiner, who created and co-starred in The Dick Van Dyke Show, will air Friday at 8 p.m. on CBS and streaming service CBS All Access. Advertisement Reiner died Monday at the age of 98. The Dick Van Dyke Show -- Now In Living Color! A Special Tribute to Carl Reiner will feature the episodes "Coast to Coast Big Mouth" and "October Eve," which were colorized under Reiner's supervision. John Cleese has laid into the "cowardly and gutless" BBC after an episode of Fawlty Towers was temporarily removed from a BBC-owned streaming platform.A 1975 episode titled The Germans was taken off UKTV's streaming service because it contains "racial slurs".In it, the Major uses highly offensive language, and Cleese's Basil Fawlty declares "don't mention the war".Cleese wrote on Twitter: "The BBC is now run by a mixture of marketing people and petty bureaucrats."He added: "I would have hoped that someone at the BBC would understand that there are two ways of making fun of human behaviour."One is to attack it directly. April 18 (UPI) --Amy Schumer and Tina Fey will guest host the final two episodes of Saturday Night Live Season 43, NBC announced Wednesday.Schumer will return May 12 for her second time on the sketch-comedy show when singer-songwriter Kacey Musgraves will provide the evening's musical entertainment.SNL alum Fey will return for her sixth time as host for the season finale on May 19, while hip-hop star Nicki Minaj will be the musical guest that night.Actor and rapper Donald Glover was previously announced as the guest host and musical guest for the May 5 episode.
