U.S. conducts 'extraordinary flight' over Ukraine after Russia ship seizure
Dec. 6 (UPI) -- The U.S. Department of Defense announced Thursday that the United States and allies conducted an extraordinary flight over Ukraine after a Russian ship seized Ukrainian vessels and soldiers. The Pentagon condemned Russia's actions, adding the timing of the flight was intended "to reaffirm U.S. commitment to Ukraine and other partner nations" and that the U.S. is "resolute" in its support of the security of European nations. "Russia's unprovoked attack on Ukrainian naval vessels in the Black Sea near the Kerch Strait is a dangerous escalation in a pattern of increasingly provocative and threatening activity," the Pentagon said.
