
Packers place WR Geronimo Allison on injured reserve
The Green Bay Packers probaby will be without one of their top receivers for the remainder of the season. The Packers announced Tuesday that they placed receiver Geronimo Allison on injured reserve with a groin injury. He must sit out at least eight weeks and could return only in the postseason, if the Packers reach the playoffs. Allison suffered the injury last Thursday in practice and did not play in Green Bay's 31-17 loss to New England on Sunday night. Allison played just five games, including four starts, this season, but he still ranks fourth on the team in receptions (20) and receiving yards (303) and had two touchdown catches.
