NEW DELHI: The CBI carried out searches at seven locations in Mumbai on Monday in connection with the Yes Bank scam pertaining to the Rs 600 crore alleged bribe to its co-founder Rana Kapoor's family by scam-hit DHFL and issued a look out circular against the accused to prevent their escape, officials said. The CBI has named five companies and seven individuals including Kapoor, his wife Bindu and daughters Roshini, Raakhe and Radha as accused in its FIR. Dewan Housing Finance Corporation Limited (DHFL) and RKW Developers Private Limited and their then directors Kapil Wadhawan and Dheeraj Wadhawan, respectively also figure as accused in the FIR. Sept. 12 (UPI) -- Forecasters on Thursday continued to keep a close eye on Potential Tropical Cyclone Nine, a cluster of showers and thunderstorms slowly organizing over the Bahamas. While the tropical disturbance could strengthen and move over the eastern waters of the Gulf of Mexico, new information suggests it could also become more organized late this week and perhaps turn northward along the United States Atlantic coast early next week. The disturbance, originally dubbed 95L, became Potential Tropical Cyclone Nine on Thursday afternoon and follows Category 5 Hurricane Dorian, which slammed the northern Bahamas last week. The Australian government is warning citizens to be on the look out for crocodiles and snakes in the streets amid severe rainfall and flooding in north Queensland over the past few days. “Crocodiles prefer calmer waters and they may move around in search of a quiet place to wait for floodwaters to recede,” Leeanne Enoch, Queensland's minister for environment, said in a statement Monday. She continued, “Crocodiles may be seen crossing roads, and when flooding recedes, crocodiles can turn up in unusual places such as farm dams or waterholes where they have not been seen before. NEW DELHI: The telecom department has blacklisted bank guarantees issued by Standard Chartered after the bank failed to invoke one that was issued for Aircel Group. In a strongly worded office memorandum sent to all telecom operators and concerned officers, the DoT (Department of Telecom) has directed entities that they should not accept bank guarantee (BG) from Standard Chartered Bank, including renewals. "Standard Chartered Bank has failed to invoke a BG issued by them on behalf of Aircel Group of companies. This action by Standard Chartered Bank is a serious breach of trust and contract with government of India.
