June 4 (UPI) -- Doctors at Massachusetts General Hospital confirmed Monday that Liverpool goalie Loris Karius sustained a concussion during the Champions League final against Real Madrid. Madrid beat Liverpool 3-1 in the finale on May 26 at NSC Olimpiyskiy in Kiev, Ukraine. Karius held Madrid scoreless in the first half, before allowing a goal to Karim Benzema in the 51st minute after a horrible error. Sadio Mane scored for Liverpool four minutes later, but Karius allowed two scores to Gareth Bale down the stretch. Dr. Ross Zafonte and Leonor Herget, PT, DPT, released a statement on the goalkeeper.
