By Alan McGuinness, political reporter The chancellor has rejected suggestions Brexit should be delayed - saying the "ticking clock" will "focus minds" and ensure Theresa May gets an exit deal passed in time.Speaking to Sky News at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Philip Hammond dismissed calls from some MPs for Article 50 - the legal mechanism a country triggers to leave the EU - to be extended. Mr Hammond told Sky's economics editor Ed Conway: "The problem with that suggestion is that it is pretty clear, if you look at the situation, the only thing that is pushing people at all towards pragmatic compromise is the ticking clock and the deadline."I'm afraid if you remove the deadline, you would run the risk of just entrenching people in their positions ...

'Criminal Minds' adds Daniel Henney to ensemble

June 21 (UPI) -- Daniel Henney has joined the cast of Criminal Minds as a series regular, CBS said Tuesday.Starring Joe Mantegna, Paget Brewster, Matthew Gray Gubler, A.J. Cook, Aisha Tyler, Kirsten Vangsness and Adam Rodriguez, the procedural will begin its 13th season on Sept. 27.Henney will reprise his role of Special Agent Matt Simmons, which he played for two seasons on the recently canceled Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders."Formerly with the International Response Team, Special Agent Simmons joins his colleagues in the Behavioral Analysis Unit, whom he has consulted with in the past, including helping with the release of Dr. Spencer Reid when he was arrested in Mexico last season," a press release noted.[embedded content]Let's block ads! Damon Gupton departs 'Criminal Minds': 'I just lost my job'

June 12 (UPI) -- Damon Gupton is departing Criminal Minds after a short-lived stint with the CBS series.The 44-year-old actor confirmed his exit in a tweet Saturday after one season as Special Agent Stephen Walker."@1Tyvis wanted to let you know I appreciate this as I just lost my job," he wrote in response to a motivational post from NFL player Tyvis Powell, who was cut from the Cleveland Browns last week.Gupton was brought on for Season 12 in the wake of Thomas Gibson's dismissal from Criminal Minds. Gibson was fired from the show in August after 12 seasons as Aaron Hotchner following an altercation with a writer.Entertainment Weekly linked Gupton's departure to Kirsten Vangsness and A.J.
