St. Louis Cardinals look to get key hitters going vs. Minnesota Twins

Sports
Matt Carpenter returned to the St. Louis Cardinals' lineup Tuesday night after getting a few days off to regroup. Now, it's Dexter Fowler's turn to get back on track. Fowler is expected back among St. Louis' starting nine Wednesday when the Cardinals wrap up a two-game interleague series with the Minnesota Twins at Target Field in Minneapolis, Minn. The center fielder was expected to be a sparkplug atop St. Louis' lineup this season, but both he and Carpenter got off to the worst offensive starts of their careers. Carpenter was batting .145 and Fowler .146 when the Cardinals arrived in Minneapolis. Carpenter went hitless on Tuesday and his average is down to .140. The company wants to pull the old network out and replace it with a new line capable of carrying more Canadian oil through the region.Administrative Law Judge Ann O'Reilly found that Line 3 is an integral part of the broader regional network, the company's Mainline pipeline system."Line 3, however, is old, needs significant repair, and poses significant integrity concerns for the state," her ruling read. The Minnesota Vikings announced the signing of three players on Wednesday: kicker Kai Forbath, tight end Josiah Price and long snapper Nick Dooley. They also waived linebacker Shaan Washington. The Vikings re-signed Forbath to a one-year deal, according to multiple media outlets. Forbath, who became a free agent last week, connected on a career-high 32 field-goal attempts last season -- including six from at least 50 yards. Forbath recorded a personal-best 38 field-goal attempts and finished with 130 points last season. Forbath struggled at times with extra points last season, however, as he missed an NFL-high five attempts. Price appeared in four preseason games with Minnesota in 2017, making one start. He was released during the final roster reduction on Sept. 2. Dooley will take part in...

Sam Bradford: Minnesota Vikings quarterback will return to practice this week

Sports
Minnesota Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said Monday quarterback Sam Bradford will practice this week as the team prepares to host a divisional round game on Jan. 14. Bradford was placed on injured reserve Nov. 8, two months after suffering a non-contact injury in his left knee in Week 1 against the New Orleans Saints. He underwent surgery on Nov. 7, but it was not related to the two procedures Bradford had to repair a torn ACL in the knee in 2013 and 2014. Bradford returned Oct. 9 from a three-game absence with an ailing left knee, but he aggravated the injury late in the first half of a 20-17 victory over the Chicago Bears and Case Keenum has been the starter ever since. Bradford was eligible to resume practicing after spending six weeks on injured reserve and the Vikings opted to bring him b...
