OAKLAND, Calif. -- Two teams that could be first-round opponents in the upcoming NBA playoffs square off Saturday night when the New Orleans Pelicans take on the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors (57-22) are locked into the No. 2 seeding in the Western Conference. They will have the home-court advantage against the seventh seed in the first round starting next weekend. The Pelicans (45-34), meanwhile, are among six teams battling for the final five playoff spots in the West. They will begin the day Saturday tied with San Antonio (45-34) and Oklahoma City (45-34) for fifth place, with Minnesota (45-35) and Denver (44-35) close behind. NEW ORLEANS -- Stephen Curry scored a team-high 31 points, and Nick Young and Klay Thompson combined for 18 points in the fourth quarter as Golden State erased a 20-point halftime deficit and defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 125-115 Monday night at the Smoothie King Center. The Warriors (19-6) trailed by as many as 21 points late in the second quarter and by 20 at halftime. The comeback was their second best of the season. They overcame a 24-point deficit against the Philadelphia 76ers on Nov. 18. The Warriors, who have beaten New Orleans in 20 of the past 21 meetings, outscored the Pelicans 76-46 in the second half after trailing 69-49 at the half.
