Sept. 16 (UPI) -- Quarterback Patrick Mahomes continued his electric start to the 2018 season as the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 42-37 in a high-scoring affair. The second-year gunslinger tied a franchise record with six touchdown passes against the Steelers. Mahomes' 10 passing touchdowns in the first two weeks of the season are the most ever by a quarterback through two games in league history. He was 23-of-28 for 326 yards with no interceptions. He added five rushes for 18 yards and had a passer rating of 154.8. "You never expect to have 10 touchdowns at this point in the season," Mahomes told reporters. Pittsburgh Steelers TE Vance McDonald sidelined by foot injury

Sports
Pittsburgh Steelers starting tight end Vance McDonald did not practice Thursday, the club announced. McDonald was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, but his inability to take the field Thursday puts in jeopardy his chances of playing in Sunday's regular-season opener at the Cleveland Browns. Entering his sixth NFL season overall and second with Pittsburgh, McDonald had 14 receptions for 188 yards and a touchdown in 10 games (seven starts) last season. If McDonald is unable to play Sunday, veteran tight end Jesse James is expected to start in his place. James started 14 games last season and established career highs with 43 receptions for 372 yards and three touchdowns. A fifth-round draft pick out of Penn State in 2015, the 6-foot-7, 261-pound James had 39 catches for 33...

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell might report next Monday

Sports
Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell has not appeared at practice yet, but he hinted when he will arrive. Bell has told some of his teammates that he will report on Monday, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. That means Bell would get back to work on Labor Day. Bell has not yet signed his tender, and the deadline to sign a multiyear deal passed in July. Monday would be the first day of practice of the week leading up to the Steelers' regular-season opener against the Cleveland Browns. Last year, Bell reported six days ahead of the team's first regular-season game, so it appears he will follow the same schedule this year. He arrived a few days before his first practice in 2017 to take a physical, and it is unclear whether he will do that again this time. The Steelers ...
