Jan. 16 (UPI) -- The Buffalo Bills beat the Baltimore Ravens 17-3 on Saturday night at Bills Stadium to advance to the AFC Championship Game for the first time since the 1993-94 season. The Bills used Taron Johnson's record-tying 101-yard interception return for a touchdown in the third quarter to pull away from the Ravens (12-6) in the divisional-round game. Dolphins’ Tua Tagovailoa, Ravens’ Lamar Jackson iffy for Week 13

Sports
Dec. 4 (UPI) -- The playing status for Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson remains in limbo ahead of Week 13 of the 2020 NFL season. Tagovailoa hasn't played since he was benched during the Dolphins' Nov. 22 loss to the Denver Broncos. The team said Tagovailoa's in-game demotion was not injury related at the time, but later said he had sustained an injury to his left thumb. He missed the Dolphins' Week 12 win over the New York Jets because of the injury. He is expected to be a game-time decision Sunday when the Dolphins host the Cincinnati Bengals. Veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick is in line for his sec...

New York Jets claim former Ravens, Vikings kicker Kaare Vedvik

Sept. 1 (UPI) -- The New York Jets acquired kicker Kaare Vedvik on waivers from the Minnesota Vikings, the team announced Sunday. The Jets also waived kicker Taylor Bertolet as the team rounded out the 53-man roster. New York originally expressed interest in trading for Vedvik a few weeks ago, but the Baltimore Ravens traded him to the Vikings for a fifth-round draft pick. Vedvik struggled with the Vikings and the team ultimately opted to part ways with the Norwegian-born kicker. He converted only one of his four field-goal attempts in two games with Minnesota, missing from 37, 43 and 54 yards. His lone make came from 27 yards. Before his kicking woes in Minnesota, Vedvik was 12-for-13 on field goals in two preseasons with the Ravens. He connected on all four of his field-goal tries in t...

Pro Bowl pass rusher Ezekial Ansah visits Baltimore Ravens

Sports
April 24 (UPI) -- Free-agent defensive end and Pro Bowler Ezekial Ansah visited the Baltimore Ravens, the team announced Wednesday. The former Detroit Lions defensive lineman met with the team but it is unclear how close the sides are to a possible deal. Ansah is still recovering from shoulder surgery that limited him to seven games last season. Sources told the NFL Network that the defender saw Dr. Neal ElAttrache on Monday and discovered that his shoulder is structurally sound. Ansah needs to regain strength in his shoulder and he could be cleared by mid-August. The Ravens have a need for pass rushers following the losses of Terrell Suggs and Za'Darius Smith to free agency. The Lions originally drafted Ansah in the first round (No. 5 overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft out of BYU. The 29-ye...

The Pro Bowl linebacker tipped a pass from Cleveland quarterback Baker Mayfield and then came down with an interception to seal a 26-24 victory, helping the Ravens clinch their first AFC North crown since 2012. Baltimore (10-6) is the fourth seed in the AFC playoffs and will host the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Ravens beat the Chargers on the road 22-10 in Week 16. "I told the guys last night this is the best team I've ever been associated with in 34 years of coaching, even back to peewee," Baltimore coach John Harbaugh said. "Look at this bunch of guys. Remember what this is because th...
