Jan. 25 (UPI) -- Google workers announced Monday a new global union alliance to hold the company accountable. The new alliance called Alpha Global, in recognition of Google's parent company Alphabet, was formed in coordination with Union Network International Global Union, a global union that brings together 20 million workers from various sectors in the service economy, according to a UNI Global Union post. NEW YORK, Oct. 21 (UPI) -- A standoff in defense burden sharing negotiations between the United States and South Korea are raising concerns of an unraveling of the alliance, as both sides look toward upcoming elections. Mumbai: Flag carrier Air India's regional arm Alliance Air on Friday announced discounted fares starting as low as Rs 990 for flights across its network under a limited period sale offer. The fares offered under the 'Independence Day sale carnival' are lower than the train fares so that train commuters can experience the luxury of flying, Alliance Air said in a statement. The seven-day sale period starts from August 3 and ends on August 9 for a travel period between August 3 and September 30, the airline said. Alliance Air currently operates 110 flights per day to 53 destinations such as Kullu, Cochin, Mysuru, Diu and Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh besides Shimla, Kohlapur, Pantnagar, Bathinda, Ludhiana, Gwalior, Bikaner, which are operated under government's regional connectivity scheme...

Dec. 8 (UPI) -- United Launch Alliance is preparing once more to launch its Delta 4-Heavy rocket. The company's most powerful rocket was scheduled to carry a spy satellite into space on Friday, but a communications error forced ULA to delay the liftoff until Saturday evening. During preflight checks, engineers discovered a "redundant communication link between the control center and the launch site," according to a statement released by ULA. Saturday's launch from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California is scheduled for 11:06 p.m. EST, 8:19 p.m. PST. "Weather has improved! We are at 70% chance of favorable launch weather for tonight's #NROL71 launch," ULA announced on Twitter. ULA will stream a live broadcast of Saturday's launch.
