PA MediaMillions of vulnerable people with underlying health conditions, such as cancer, diabetes and heart disease, are being urged to book their Covid jabs.Charities including Cancer Research UK, Mencap and the Terrence Higgins Trust have written an open letter to those in priority group six.They are trying to reassure people that vaccines are safe and effective.The Department of Health said more than half of the seven million people in that group have had their first dose.Priority group six includes those aged 16 to 64 with an underlying health condition, their carers, and people with learning disabilities.Underlying health conditions include chronic respiratory, heart, kidney and liver disease and neurological conditions, immunosuppression, asplenia, diabetes, morbid obesity and severe...

Desire for escapism fuels rise in book and audiobook sales

There has been an increase in the number of books being consumed since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.The Publishers Association said that while sales for print books fell by 17% in the first half of 2020, demand for digital books rose by 13%. Adult fiction proved to be the most popular genre, seeing a 13% rise in demand.The sharpest increase in demand was for audiobooks, which saw sales increase by 47%.Natalie Trice, a mother of two, told Sky News her family turned to audiobooks during their daily school journeys. ‘The Book of Boba Fett’: New ‘Star Wars’ series set for Disney+ in 2021

Dec. 18 (UPI) -- A new Star Wars television series based around bounty hunter Boba Fett titled The Book of Boba Fett is coming to Disney+ in December 2021. The announcement came Friday during the after-credits scene for the Season 2 finale of fellow Star Wars show, The Mandalorian. Advertisement Fett, portrayed by Temuera Morrison, became a supporting character in Season 2 of The Mandalorian and was featured returning to Jabba the Hutt's palace. Fett shot up the place and sat down on Jabba's throne before a title card arrived announcing The Book of Boba Fett. Disney has yet to officially announce the series.
