Space Force plans National Space Intelligence Center in Ohio

Nov. 17 (UPI) -- The Space Force is planning to form a National Space Intelligence Center in Ohio, a spokeswoman confirmed. According to Space Force spokeswoman Col. Catie Hague, two parts of the National and Space Intelligence Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base -- namely, the Space Analysis Squadron and Counter-Space Analysis Squadron -- will form the basis of the new center. Austria closes mosque, Islamic center linked to Vienna attacker

Nov. 6 (UPI) -- Austrian authorities on Friday said they shut down a mosque and an Islamic organization linked to a terror attack in Vienna that left four victims dead earlier this week. A local intelligence official also resigned in response to the shooting. Advertisement Integration Minister Susanne Raab and Interior Minister Karl Nehammer announced they shuttered the Tewhid Mosque and the Melit Ibrahim Association. They did so after a meeting with Umit Vural, the president of the Islamic Faith Community in Austria. Raab said the attacker, Fujtim Fejzulai, frequented the two locations, neither of which held a "positive attitude toward society and the state," according to the country's so-called Islam Law. Aug. 19 (UPI) -- Astrophysicists have found bullet-like globs of dense, cold gas that were expelled from the center of the Milky Way. Researchers described the strange gas in a new paper, published Wednesday in the journal Nature, but the cause of their ejection remains a mystery. Hensel Phelps Construction nabs $54.3M for undersea training center

April 15 (UPI) -- The Navy has awarded Hensel Phelps Construction a $ 54.3 million contract for design and construction of an undersea operational facility, the Pentagon said Wednesday. According to the contract announcement, the training center will be constructed in Oahu, Hawaii, and will support a variety of functions, including operator and undersea vehicle training, applied instruction and laboratories and computer laboratories. The contract also includes a line item for furniture, repairs and equipment. The center will also include diver support spaces, administrative spaces, maintenance and repair spaces and operator's gear storage lockers and maintenance and support spaces.
