Apple has launched a range of new products in its September event, but - for the first time in years - it has not released a new iPhone.Three new Apple Watches were shown off, as was the updated version of watchOS. The marquee new feature is a pulse oximeter which allows the wearable to detect blood oxygen levels by using red and infrared light to measure the colour of wearers' blood.This will be used with researchers in three studies focusing on respiratory diseases, including asthma and COVID-19. Apple unveiled a new version of its iPad Pro, Pencil and MacBook Air at an event themed around creativity on Tuesday in Brooklyn, New York. An Apple store in the Netherlands was evacuated after an iPad battery exploded and released noxious fumes into the air, according to reports. Three members of staff at the shop in Amsterdam had breathing problems and were treated at the scene, the city's fire service said in a tweet.A member of the fire service suggested a damaged battery was to blame, according to Dutch website iCulture.Employees at the store reportedly put the iPad in a bucket of sand following the "explosion", although there was no smoke or fire.
