Mayor tries to ban Avengers comic over gay kiss – but copies sell out

The mayor of Rio de Janerio has failed in a bid to have an Avengers comic banned from a book fair because it featured a gay kiss. Former bishop Marcelo Crivella had demanded that Avengers: The Children's Crusade be removed from the event, saying that it featured content unsuitable for youngsters. Copies of the hardback issue quickly sold out after his intervention, which resulted in the illustration in question being printed on the front page of the Saturday edition of Brazilian newspaper Fola de Sao Paulo. Nov. 26 (UPI) -- KISS has announced a second, North American leg of their upcoming farewell world tour titled End of Road after selling more than half a million tickets. The band will be returning to North America on Aug. 6 to perform at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Fla., before wrapping things up on Sept. 16 at the Oracle Arena in Oakland. KISS, as previously announced, will be starting their North America trek on Jan. 31 at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada, and will continue touring until April 13 at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex in Birmingham, Ala. The second leg will also include concerts in cities such Toronto, Brooklyn, Cincinnati, St. Louis, Houston, Salt Lake City and Denver, among others.
