Mumbai: A special PMLA court in Mumbai on Saturday issued summons to former ICICI Bank managing director Chanda Kochhar and other accused after taking cognizance of the charge sheet filed against them by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case and asked them to appear before court on February 12. The ED filed its first charge sheet against Kochhar, her husband Deepak Kochhar, and Videocon Group promoter Venugopal Dhoot on money laundering charges in November. Special PMLA Judge AA Nandgoankar took cognisance of the complaint filed by ED on Saturday and directed all the accused to remain present before it on February 12. Capital markets regulator Sebi (Securities and Exchange Board of India) may soon summon ICICI Bank's on-leave CEO Chanda Kochhar and her husband with regard to a probe into alleged regulatory lapses with regard to his business dealings, officials said Sunday. Besides, some other top officials of the bank, as also from Videocon, which allegedly benefitted due to its association with Kochhar's husband, are also likely to be called for their personal hearings regarding charges against them that may lead to the bank and its embattled chief being slapped with several crores of rupees in fines and other penal actions including ban from markets and directorships. Mumbai: The probe into charges against Chanda Kochhar will cover all property dealings by the Kochhar family since she took over as CEO of ICICI Bank. The board has asked Justice BN Srikrishna, who is conducting the investigation, to look into all allegations against Kochhar, said two people familiar with the matter. It has asked Srikrishna to examine whether properties and assets acquired by the Kochhar family since she took over as CEO were purchased at concessional or lower than prevailing market prices.
