Denis Leary stays in his lane, won’t play ‘Atticus Finch’ roles

NEW YORK, March 31 (UPI) -- Denis Leary, an actor and comedian known for his acerbic wit, says fans shouldn't hold their breath waiting for him to play a earnest hero. "I don't think you want me playing Atticus Finch," the 63-year-old Massachusetts native told reporters in a recent Zoom call, referring to the principled protagonist in To Kill a Mockingbird. Advertisement "It sure would be interesting," Leary admitted. "I don't know. I like to play the bad guys. Everybody has their acting DNA, and the guy who is sort of the straight arrow is not my thing." Ronald Leary: Denver Broncos put guard on IR, sign TE Matt LaCosse

Dec. 12 (UPI) -- The Denver Broncos have placed guard Ronald Leary on injured reserve and signed tight end Matt LaCosse.Denver announced the transactions on Tuesday.LaCosse was signed off of the New York Giants' practice quad. The 6-foot-6, 255-pound pass catcher had three catches for 22 yards in five games for the Giants from 2015 through 2017. He originally joined the Giants as an undrafted college free agent in May 2015 out of Illinois.LaCosse appeared in three games and had one start this season for the Giants. He served on the Giants' practice squad since Nov. 14. He spent the entire 2016 season on injured reserve after appearing in two games during his rookie campaign. LaCosse will wear No. 83 for the Broncos.Leary joined the Broncos this offseason as an unrestricted free agent from ...
