April 26 (UPI) -- A Minor League Baseball player credited his anger over the New York Giants' first pick in the 2019 NFL Draft as the reason he recently hit three home runs. Tim Locastro went yard three times in Triple-A Reno's 15-5 win against Fresno on Thursday at Greater Nevada Field in Reno, Nev. After the game, the Aces right fielder from Auburn, N.Y. let his displeasure known about the Giants' decision to pick Duke quarterback Daniel Jones with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Jones was not expected to be the second quarterback taken in the field on Thursday in Nashville. "If I'm being completely honest with you, we were watching the NFL Draft before the game," Locastro told MiLB.com. "I'm a huge Giants fan, and I was a little upset with their pick." MUMBAI: Mridula stood shivering outside the magistrate court in Mumbai. It wasn’t the drop in temperature, but the thought that she could land in jail owing to a rigorous Income-Tax (I-T) provision, which did not look into the severity of her tax default. She had defaulted by 30-odd days on depositing TDS collected from her employees’ salary. Her two-year-old content company has six full-time employees and deals with freelancers when there is a spike in work. Mridula was shocked to get a notice from the I-T department saying: ‘To show-cause as why prosecution under section 276B, read with section 278B of the I-T Act, should not be launched.’ The sections deal with failure to deposit TDS with government, and the maximum imprisonment is 7 years. According to Mridula (name changed...

July 30 (UPI) -- Memphis Redbirds pitcher Dakota Hudson recently got called up to Major League Baseball in an interesting way. Redbirds manager Stubby Clapp had the honor of breaking the news to the right hander. Hudson was pitching in the first inning on Wednesday against the Salt Lake Bees during the sequence. He went three up and three down in the bottom of the first inning, quieting the Bees' bats. He then stepped up to pitch the second inning. Hudson walked Jared Walsh, before allowing a single to Jose Fernandez. Dustin Ackley was about to step into the box before Clapp walked out to the mound. Clapp got in a few words before handing a ball to the right hander. He then hugged Hudson as his teammates gave him a round of applause and shared more embraces in the dugout. "At first I did...
