Don Cheadle named narrator of ‘Wonder Years’ reboot

March 27 (UPI) -- Avengers franchise and Black Monday actor Don Cheadle will play the narrator on ABC's upcoming Wonder Years reboot. Cheadle will lend his voice to the grownup version of Dean, played by Elisha Williams in the dramedy. Advertisement Co-starring Dulé Hill, Laura Kariuki, and Saycon Sengbloh, the reboot will follow a middle-class Black family in 1960s Alabama. In the original series, which ran 1988-93, Daniel Stern played adult Kevin as he looked back on his childhood. Fred Savage played young Kevin in the old show, which was about a White suburban family in the 1960s. Savage is directing and executive producing the pilot for the new series. MPs have called on the government to publish a list of companies using the furlough scheme.It comes amid growing concern about what the Commons public accounts committee described as "opportunistic fraud" - where furloughed workers continue working while their bosses claim the grant. It is thought this could be happening in between 7% and 34% of cases.Under current plans the scale of losses will not be revealed until at least the end of next year but the committee said one should instead be released by the end of January.Committee chair Meg Hillier said: "With the Treasury claiming it can't give even a ballpark figure for the cost of COVID job support until the end of next year, public scrutiny of where taxpayers' money is going is essential." ...
