RBI imposes restrictions on PMC Bank; withdrawal restricted to Rs 1,000 per account

MUMBAI: The Reserve Bank on Tuesday imposed operational restrictions on Punjab and Maharashtra Co-operative Bank (PMC Bank), resulting in chaos outside its branches in the financial capital. As per the RBI directions to PMC Bank, withdrawals have been capped at Rs 1,000 per account and the bank is not allowed to make any fresh loans. The RBI monitors banks' health and issues such directions in case of concerns over financial health of an institution. However, no reasons were specified by the central bank for its restrictions on PMC Bank. "The issue of the directions by the Reserve Bank should not, per se, be construed as cancellation of its banking licence. July 17 (UPI) -- Israeli officials have placed new restrictions on fuel deliveries across the Gaza Strip after new arson attacks, including one that involved a dead falcon. Israel Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman said the suspension of fuel cargo was due to "continued terror attempts" by Hamas. Rocket launch rescheduled after aircraft enters restricted space

Nov. 11 (UPI) -- Orbital OTK rescheduled Saturday's Antares rocket launch after another aircraft flew into restricted airspace near NASA's Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia.The rocket was expected to carry the Cygnus aircraft into orbit and deliver 7,400 pounds of supplies, equipment and science experiments to the International Space Station.Within 2 minutes of the scheduled launch time of 7:37 a.m., Orbital OTK scrapped the launch saying a "small aircraft" was flying at about 500 feet some 6 miles offshore."We were working no issues until an aircraft flew into restricted airspace," the aerospace company said on Twitter.
