
Jermaine Whitehead: Green Bay Packers sign safety to active roster
Oct. 21 (UPI) -- The Green Bay Packers have added safety Jermaine Whitehead to the active roster from the practice squad.Packers executive vice president, general manager and director of football operations Ted Thompson announced the signing on Saturday.Whitehead, 24, entered the NFL as an undrafted rookie free agent signing by the San Francisco 49ers in 2015. The 5 foot 11, 195 pound defender spent most of his first season with the 49ers' practice squad. He was added to the Baltimore Ravens' active roster on Dec. 23, 2015, but was inactive for the final two games of the season. Baltimore waived Whitehead in May of 2016 before he signed with the Packers. Whitehead made two special teams appearances last season for the Packers.
