April 9 (UPI) -- Right-hander Joe Musgrove has tossed the first no-hitter in the 53-year history of the San Diego Padres. The 28-year-old Musgrove accomplished the historic feat during the Padres' 3-0 win over the Texas Rangers on Friday night at Globe Life Field. Advertisement Musgrove struck out 10 and walked none in the outing, allowing only one Rangers player, Joey Gallo, to reach base on a hit by pitch in the fourth inning. He threw 112 pitches -- with 77 of those being strikes -- and induced 13 swings-and-misses. Aug. 14 (UPI) -- San Francisco 49ers starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo struggled during the team's practice Wednesday, throwing five consecutive interceptions. Garoppolo, who is working his way back from a torn ACL, threw five straight picks to Richard Sherman, Ahkello Witherspoon, Jaquiski Tartt and Tarvarius Moore (twice) during one stretch of the practice session, according to NBC Sports Bay Area. May 8 (UPI) -- Denver Nuggets point guard Jamal Murray came out of nowhere and threw down a monstrous putback slam against the Portland Trail Blazers in Tuesday night's Game 5. Nuggets forward Paul Millsap grabbed a rebound and raced up the court in the third quarter. He drove into the lane and shot a contested layup that bounced off the backboard and the front of the rim. Murray patiently waited and sprinted at the hoop. The guard secured the rebound after his timely jump and emphatically dunked the ball over Trail Blazers guard CJ McCollum.
