April 24 (UPI) -- Vikings and The Hunger Games actor Alexander Ludwig said he wanted to play Dorn, a brawny, brilliant technological device expert who doesn't like to fight, in Bad Boys For Life because the role upends expectations. "He's so against type," the 27-year-old Vancouver native told UPI in a phone interview Friday, alluding to the fact that he is as smart as he is strong. "When you hear about the techie, I think an image comes up in your head of what that person is supposed to look like or how he is supposed to be," Ludwig added. The Vikings will play the top-seeded San Francisco 49ers on Saturday in the divisional round. It marked the second consecutive time the Saints' season ended in overtime in the Superdome. New Orleans' early exit at the hands of the Vikings came almost a year after the Saints lost in the NFC title game to the Los Angeles Rams. Vikings tailback Dalvin Cook recorded 130 yards from scrimmage and notched two touchdowns on the ground. Cousins completed 19-of-31 passes for 242 yards and...

The Jets also waived kicker Taylor Bertolet as the team rounded out the 53-man roster. New York originally expressed interest in trading for Vedvik a few weeks ago, but the Baltimore Ravens traded him to the Vikings for a fifth-round draft pick. He converted only one of his four field-goal attempts in two games with Minnesota, missing from 37, 43 and 54 yards. His lone make came from 27 yards. Before his kicking woes in Minnesota, Vedvik was 12-for-13 on field goals in two preseasons with the Ravens. He connected on all four of his field-goal tries in t...

Packers, Vikings both need win to boost playoff hopes

Two high-priced quarterbacks will face off Sunday night at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis in prime time when the Green Bay Packers meet the Minnesota Vikings in a game both teams need to win to enhance their playoff chances. The Packers (4-5-1) and Vikings (5-4-1) played to a 29-29 tie on Sept. 16 in Green Bay as Vikings rookie kicker Daniel Carlson missed three field goal attempts, including two in overtime. Carlson was released after that game and Dan Bailey is now doing the kicking for Minnesota. But the focus Sunday night will be on Minnesota quarterback Kirk Cousins and Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Cousins had perhaps his best game of the season against the Packers, going 35 of 48 for 425 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. However, Cousins and the Vikings have...
