Actor George Segal, best known for starring in US sitcom The Goldbergs, has died at the age of 87.Segal, who was Oscar-nominated for 1966 black comedy-drama Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, died on Tuesday in Santa Rosa, California. His wife Sonia Segal said: "The family is devastated to announce that this morning George Segal passed away due to complications from bypass surgery."The actor has played Albert 'Pops' Solomon on TV comedy The Goldbergs since 2013.Also an accomplished banjo player, he starred as magazine publisher Jack Gallo in the US sitcom Just Shoot Me from 1997 to 2003. ...

May 7 (UPI) -- ABC announced Thursday that it is bringing back its The Wonderful World of Disney programming banner. The network will show a different classic Disney movie on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EDT, starting with Moana on May 20. Other films scheduled to screen in the time slot each week include Thor: The Dark World on May 27, Up on June 3 and Big Hero 6 on June 10. The Wonderful World of Disney showcase for Disney's projects has aired off and on since 1954. The family of a UK man who died with coronavirus have paid tribute to a "wonderful husband, dad, grandad and great-grandad". The 83-year-old, the second person to die in the UK after contracting the virus, died shortly after testing positive in hospital on Thursday.His family said they had lost a "truly loving person" and were unable to arrange a funeral for him because they were self-isolating. It comes as the UK cases rose to 209.The man, who had underlying health problems, had been admitted to Milton Keynes Hospital for another reason and spent two days in a ward before being isolated and tested for coronavirus, the hospital said.
